Why I Read Books 8 Times 📚🤓
I’ll be in conversation with someone, and give them some information that they could use.
They respond by telling me that they have heard that, watched that, read that, or some form of letting me know that they already know what I just told them.
Problem is, they are not applying what they claim to already know.
This happens often. More often than you’d think.
I will explain why it happens, and how to fix it.
The reason you can consume something, yet not apply or use what you “know,” is not because you are dumb, stupid, lazy, nor destined for failure.
It’s because of how the human brain works, and most people’s lack of understanding of this.
In advertising, for example, it is understood that consumers need to be exposed to a message at least seven times before it passes through to the subconscious mind. At that point, we actually recognize the message, understand what it says, and can possibly — and finally — take action on it.
This is why commercials and advertisements run for a long time, to the point that you can memorize the messages.
One exposure is not enough.
It’s the same with the content we consume today.
