The Golden Rule Of Business 💛⚱️
In conversations with my first business mentor, we talked about delegating and hiring other people to work for me.
She gave me an important rule of thumb that I still utilize to this day.
“The last thing you ever offload, Dre, is your money.”
In other words, hire people to edit your videos, post your articles, reply to social media comments, and manage your inbox.
The last thing you hire someone else to do is the thing that makes the money. That should be the job you ALWAYS keep, even if you have only one.
The Golden Rule of Business: Whoever controls how the money is generated, controls the business.
Your business is not your products.
It is not your service.
Your clients and customers are an asset — but they are not the business.
The business is the way that the money is generated.
Business: the practice of making one’s living by engaging in commerce.
Business occurs when there’s an exchange.
Your products or services for your prospects’ money.
When that exchange occurs, you’re doing business.
