I Sang Karaoke In An Uber 🚘🎤

Another true story…

I had an afternoon flight. I decided to try something I’d never done before by scheduling my ride to the airport.

Around 9 AM, I scheduled and paid $37 for a Lyft ride to pick me up at 11:30 AM to take me to Miami Airport.

I was outside my building at 11:30. Opened the Lyft app.

The Lyft schedule ride was LATE.

Not just a little late, either. The driver was 17 MINUTES away.

Early is on time.

On time is late.

Late is forgotten.

I HATE being late. Especially when it’s —

1) Someone else’s fault and

2) Preventable.

How did Lyft screw this up?

I canceled the late Lyft. Opened the Uber app instead.

I ordered an Uber XL for $23.95. The car was 1 minute away. The driver arrived in a Lincoln Navigator SUV.

The car had a tablet held upright in the back center console. I could choose the music via Spotify. Nice.

There were also two microphones in the back cup holder.

I asked the driver what the mics were for.

“Karaoke. Wanna try?”

I laughed, but declined.

Then I changed my mind.
