How A Bad Team Beats A Good Team…

In pro sports, any team can beat any other team in any particular game.

Yes, some teams are better than others, and more consistently good. But, every team has the capacity to win any game.

The reason why: At the pro level, everyone has talent, skill, experience, and resources.

While there is some talent variance between players — LeBron James, for example, is better than the average no-name guy at the end of an NBA bench — the real difference between teams is the level of discipline and focus they bring to the job on a daily basis.

So then, what exactly happens when the worst team in the league beats the best team in the league in a random game?

That’s a good question; I have the answer.

The night before that game against the good team, the players on the bad team do things that they don’t normally do. Many things, actually.

They get focused.

They don’t stay out partying and drinking.

They go to bed early.

They eat a healthy breakfast.

They take a nice long nap the afternoon before the game.

By the time the game starts, they are mentally locked-in, physically rested, and well prepared.
