How $35 Added Years To My Life
A few years ago, I bought some new furniture for my home office.
A lot of it was flat-box-shipping furniture, which meant I had to assemble it. If you’ve ever bought this type of stuff, you know these packages come with the little L-shaped manual tool to screw in all of the nuts and bolts.
That tool sucks. I hate using them.
For one, manually screwing in 20 or 30 or 80 screws takes FOREVER.
For another, my hand starts to cramp from the repetitive turning movement.
So, I made one of my best investments: I bought a $35 power drill from Amazon.
I’ve had this drill for two or three years now, and it was a great decision.
It is much easier to assemble furniture — and to take it apart, if necessary.
It cuts my work time by 90%.
I never lost my intention or ability to put the furniture together. But, with the right tools, I can get the job done, much more efficiently and effectively. And that makes all the difference.
